DSM-5 Clinical Cases by Edited by John W. Barnhill. A helpful resource book for professors, students, and clinicians working in many different clinical settings. This is a companion text to the DSM-5 and provides narratives for every diagnosis. Each vignette also discusses factors such as severity, dimensionality, culture, age, and gender. Each chapter is written by a leading researcher. This can be helpful for both clinicians and students. I found this text to be very helpful when I was studying for my licensure exams.
Interview Guide for Evaluating DSM-5 Psychiatric Disorders and the Mental Status Examination by Mark Zimmerman. This brief resource book offers the DSM-V diagnostic criteria and related interview questions for many of the most common forms of psychopathology and personality disorders. This is not a definitive diagnostic tool, and clinical judgement, related assessment data etc. should also be utilized. This text offers non-leading, non-stigmatizing questions that can help shape a conceptualization and preliminary diagnosis.
